The Oxnard and Ventura Police Traffic Divisions conducted a joint Driving Under the Influence enforcement saturation in the City of Oxnard. The joint efforts were conducted between the hours of 6:00 P.M. to 2:00 A.M on May 2nd.
There were 7 drivers who were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and 53 drivers were issued citations for various violations. Nine vehicles were towed and the owners of the vehicles will face a minimum release fee of $494.00. That fee does not include towing and storage fees.
The Oxnard Police Department will continue conducting Sobriety and Driver’s License saturations, and checkpoints in effort to reduce the number of alcohol related crashes and to make our roadways and community safer throughout the year. The saturations and checkpoints are funded through grants from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS).
