Mr. Grair lived in Burbank, CA and owned the Crossroads Center at Las Posas Rd and Lewis Road. He owned and operated the Crossroads Market & Liquor store which was located within the center. He also owned another shopping center in San Clemente.
Mr. Grair was born in Syria as Murhij Grayr but in the US, he was known known by his American name. He became a successful businessman, owning several properties in Southern California.

Ventura County Crime Stoppers will pay a reward of up to $1,000 upon arrest. The family is offering an additional reward of $100,000 for arrest and conviction of the murderer or murderers.
At approximately 5:13 Friday evening, Michael Grair's body was found inside his white Cadillac Escalade behind a vacant commercial center he owned. The engine was still running.
He was killed by a gunshot wound to the torso.
It is estimated that Mr. Grair, 64, was shot sometime between 12:00 PM and 5:00 PM and believed that he was on his way to meet a potential client about renting the building.

He was known to carry large sums of money and the possibility of robbery has not been ruled out nor has it been established as the clear motive.

The building was a former LA Workout, now vacant, and located at 4542 Las Posas Road in Camarillo, on the NW corner of Las Posas Road and Lewis Road.
