A Guide to our Twitter page

We've received a couple emails asking us how to use twitter. You can add us on twitter at twitter.com/805CrimeBlog.

Twitter is a free micro-blogging site that lets you send quick updates in 140 characters or less. If you don't have a twitter account, I do recommend getting one and signing up to our updates!

To "follow" someone means you are signing up to their updates and will show up on your screen. When someone "follows" you back, they are signing up to your updates.
It works similar to a combination of an RSS feed and IM.
To be able to send direct messages to our account, we must be following you back, so we do follow back anyone who follows us. Then, simply click on the "send message" link on the profile.
To send us a reply, simply type in @805vigilantes and we will receive it. We do answer all our replies as soon as we get them. Replies do show up on your update lists, so if you need to send us any private tips for law enforcement, I recommend using TipSubmit.com instead.

Twitter is quite easy to use once you sign up. Below is a list of other interesting people to follow.
