Gang Related Arrest

200 block of West Palm Drive
SUSPECT/S:
17 year-old Oxnard resident
DETAILS:
On July 24, 2008 at 1416 hours, Oxnard police were dispatched to a stabbing victim at Lathrop Park, 600 E. Guava Street. When officers arrived, they located the victim, a 16 year-old Oxnard resident, who had suffered a non-life threatening stab wound. This incident appeared to be gang related and was assigned to the Oxnard Police Department’s Gang Unit for further investigation.
After a lengthy investigation, the suspect was identified as a 17 year-old Oxnard resident. It was also determined this same suspect was involved in a Ventura shooting on August 24, 2008.
On September 26, 2008 at 2315 hours, Oxnard Police Department’s Special Enforcement Unit, Oxnard gang investigators and members of the Ventura Police Department’s Special Enforcement Team served a search warrant at the suspect’s residence located in the 200 block of Palm Drive. During the execution of the search warrant, the suspect was taken into custody without incident.
The 17 year-old juvenile was booked into Juvenile Hall for two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and a related gang enhancement.
Further investigation will continue.
