About Ellen Rodriguez: Crime Editor

Posted by Ellen Rodriguez

Ellen Rodriguez, a Ventura native, started volunteering in 2001 after losing her mother to cancer. A stay at home mom for the past 4 years, she dedicates her time to the community so her own children will have a better future.

Ellen wakes up daily at 4am to check her email for press releases.  When there are no crime updates, along with Charlene, they research old cases and are working together towards building a crime library for 805 Vigilantes.  Together and along with law enforcement, their main concern is to provide information without compromising the investigation.

While attending UCLA, she met her husband.  While she currently holds a psychology degree, she decided to become a stay at home mother after seeing the cause and effect of bad parenting.

Her husband works as a counselor for high school students and on the weekends, volunteers his time with high school students by playing sports with at risk teens and being a stand in father figure.

They have been happily married for 13 years and have 2 pre-teen children.  She currently dedicates most of her time to her children and their school, and is known as Aunti Elle to the local children she babysits.

Although she currently resides in Encino, California, she comes to Ventura County twice a week to visit her father and friends.
